ROCKFORD, IL — At its recent board meeting, the Board of Directors of The Blazer Foundation approved grants totaling over $35,000.  Agencies that receive grants at this grant cycle included: the Boys and Girls Clubs of Rockford, Klehm Arboretum, the YMCA of Rock River Valley and the Salvation Army.  With these grants, the Foundation has distributed over $400,000 to agencies in the Rockford, Illinois region this year.

“Our mission continues to be to help people in our community who are disabled by supporting programs, equipment and some capital projects,” stated Mark Blazer, son of the Foundation’s founder, Cedric Blazer.

The Blazer Foundation is a private philanthropic foundation established by Cedric Blazer in 1986.  Its mission is to support local initiatives in research and development as well as programs designed to directly support those individuals with disabilities.
